[Part of the Intimate Machine collection]

Duality exists everywhere, in everything, in everyone. Life is a beautiful dichotomy sometimes - of the light and of the dark. But often times we create situations where there is a darkness to our light as well. We are constantly at war with each other, and in war where there is light – there is darkness. Be it the shining light we see in war heroes, patriotism and propaganda or the dark depths and horrors of the true nature of it all, war is, ironically, how we seem to pave our path towards peace.

"Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunted flares we turned our backs
And towards our distant rest began to trudge"

"Men marched asleep"

"Then, as I probed them, one sprang up, and stared
With piteous recognition in fixed eyes,
Lifting distressful hands, as if to bless.
And by his smile, I knew that sullen hall,–
By his dead smile I knew we stood in Hell"

Holding on,
You tried to make your moments right
Living strong,
You left your lovers to go fight

/Breathe – there is no-one else/

/Close your eyes (I can't)/

You are the light
You are the light
You are the light
You are the dark

/Holding on – You are the dark – Stay/

Won't you come away
Won't you come away
Won't you come away
Won't you come away

/Close your eyes – there is no light/

/Come back/
